Why do we host a Coptic Study Group? And why should you attend?

Please ask yourself this question:
What is my process when I need to make a decision?
What tools do you use?  'Instinct'? Intuition? Empathic awareness? Other psychic or clairsentient abilities?  Guesswork? Habit? Logic? Reason?

While all of these can be trained to be reliable guides, when untrained, they are no more reliable than an upset stomach battling the flu.
To train them, you need instruction, practice and discipline. Classes in developing your psychic gifts will help you with this. Other classes in a variety of disciplines will help with training your intellect and your habitual behaviors.

Instinct, intuition, psychic knowing and all the “clairs”, also known as gifts of the Spirit, are all very valuable....yet each has its own unique limitations, as do reason and logic as well. Each of them is a necessary window into the Mansion of Enlightenment; and since every mansion has many windows, there are obviously many valuable gifts and abilities.

Yet…is there a more reliable, more complete way of learning, knowing and deciding?
Is there “A Way” that may serve as the broad front door to the mansion?

That doorway is to be found in the cultivation of a new hybrid, one that eliminates guesswork, tames the ego, and disciplines our habits:
-- A Synthesis that has at its center the true core of Inner Awareness -- which is Soul Awareness, what the Coptics call At-One-Ment --- which is then wrapped in intuition, empathy and sentience --- sewn together with study and knowledge --- and expressed as:
-- Wisdom, which is then applied to practical situations with discernment.

That is why we study the writings of the great spiritual teachers who have come before us.
The ancient teachings are known as "wisdom teachings" for very good reasons.
That is why we seek the guidance of Avatars and Ascended Masters.
That is why we listen to the still small voice within...the voice that transcends both the human 'gut' and the human ego….and calls us to become and to manifest the highest and the best within us.....
which is Spirit, in body, manifest and acting on the planet for the highest good of all.

And…that is why we host a Coptic Study Group!

     We will study - primarily - the Teachings of the Coptic Masters, as recorded in the writings of Coptic Master Hamid Bey, as well as Teachings from other ancient traditions.
     We will look at these Teachings with our modern viewpoints, and compare them with the offerings of a variety of modern `wisdom teachers', like Gregg Braden, Eckhardt Tolle, Carolyn Myss, Patricia Cota-Robles, and many others.
     We will learn techniques and practices from many disciplines, both modern and ancient.

We will approach all with an open heart and examine all with discernment.

Hello, Citizen.
    Today is Saturday, May 28. For those of us along the Ohio and middle-upper-Mississippi rivers, the "Great Flood" has come and gone. Arkansas and Missouri are cleaning up the aftermath. Mississippi and Louisiana are still dealing with it. I have no deep insights to add to those which you have probably already seen elsewhere, only this thought...
    When you turn on your sink tap to run water, express your gratitude for it. Simply address the water itself, the tap, the well or city system tyou are connected to and say "Thank you."
    Did your home 'weather' the winds and storms in good shape? Are you dry? Have you electricity for lights and refrigeration? Ditto with the thankfulness.
    Are you sound and healthy in body and mind? and your family? friends? Ditto with the attitude of gratitude.
    For many of us, May has been a month of changes. We pray that you have the strength and fortitude of Mind, Body and Spirit to face YOUR changes with clarity, purpose, equanimity and gratitude.

SCIENCE OF MIND 101 Level One – Class with Carolyn Ferber

Hello Everyone,

Last weekend, in Nashville, we taped my Soul Rising presentation. I'll have a DVD set available soon. It will be featured on my redesigned website, which will launch during the second week of October. If you enjoyed my DVDs "Morph" and "The Light Body Effect," you'll love "Soul Rising." It is my most complete presentation about the Rainbow Body and raisng the soul's vibration.

Included in "Soul Rising" is my collection of art from museums around the world portraying Saint Francis received the Stigmata from Jesus as a seraphim angel. The seraphim are the highest and purest order of angels, who, I believe, dwell in the galactic center and are making themselves manifest in our world today. In art, seraphim are portrayed as fiery orange pulsing beings of lght with oval or vortex shaped bodies. I was, therefore, most intrigued by the comments by a group of former Air Force officers who gathered Monday in the nation's capital to tell the story of nuclear missiles going offline at the Malstrom Air Force Base in Montana in March 1967. Robert Salas, a a former U.S. Air Force Nuclear Launch Officer, described some strange and silent lights making odd maneuvers in the sky over the missile silos. According to his testimony, they were "an orange and reddish pulsating oval-shaped object…about 30 feet in diameter and just hovering over the front gate." As he alerted the other officers stationed underground, he said he noticed that the missiles started going offline. They were essentially disabled while the orange and reddish pulsating oval-shaped object was overhead. Note that he did not describe the mysterious pulsing oval as a flying saucer. Was the nuke-disabling UFO a seraphim?

I, for one, would certainly not be surprised as 30 of us experienced a similar reddish orange pulsating object at James Gilliland's ECETI Ranch on July 4, 2010. This experience was caught on video and can be viewed here.

There is no question the age of Disclosure is here. My research has led me to believe that the revelation of the role of the seraphim in the development and transformation of the species will be a key aspect of Disclosure. As James Gilliland and I have discussed many times, there are essentially two types of UFO's. The technological craft and the more advanced biological light ships or craft. According to ancient tradition, these light ships are transformed or perfected humans who have affected the ultimate transformation of the human body into light form. Prosperity & Abundance

GOOD AND MORE GOOD IS MINE.

Good and more Good is mine. An ever-increasing Good is mine. There is no limit to the Good which is mine. Everywhere I go I see this Good, I feel It, I experience It. It presses itself against me. It flows through me, expresses Itself in me and multiplies Itself around me. Good and more Good is mine. And so it is. Thank you!

When we use the expression ‘prosperity consciousness’ we are pretty much directly working with the energy flow of the thought-form of Money. Good stuff. Absolutely necessary. And most of us, myself included, have a lot of work to do with our shadow self-poverty consciousness ideas and fears about Money. We’ll continue to work on that on a regular basis. For today, however, we are going to ’step it up a notch’ and begin consideration of the vibration of ABUNDANCE.

ABUNDANCE is the Over-Lighting Idea-form for Prosperity. Prosperity may be likened to the individual Soul, incarnated in body on this planet; Abundance, then, is the Over-Soul, the Higher Self of Prosperity. Abundance is the Christ Consciousness for the world-wide network of prosperity and monetary transactions. Abundance is Prosperity multiplied by Infinity.

So, for today, Good and more Good is mine. Take a moment for an internal dialogue: What is Good for Me? What is My Good? Visualize That ‘Good’. Just one or two things or thoughts or concepts, don’t try to make it too inclusive, for now. Visualize That Good. Imagine it, feel it, sense it, touch it or taste it if those would apply… Then do the Affirmation. And again. And again.

By the way, the Universe is Infinite…and so is the supply of Good…even here on Earth. There is enough, more than enough, to go around, enough for All. You are surrounded by It, bathing in It, breathing It in, filling your lungs and heart and belly with It.
Good and more Good is mine. And so it is. Thank you!

Working With Affirmations

Changing directions in our life is a little bit like carving a HUGE likeness of a President's face into a hill side (Mount Rushmore) in South Dakota -- as we chip away at what we want to change, progress is incremental and not at all noticeable from day to day. Only as we compare today to two weeks ago or two months ago (or more) do we notice the differences.

Affirmations are an essential tool in the art and practice of manifesting the change we desire.

EXERCISE & PRACTICE:   When you work with Affirmations:

Find an inner feeling that best fits – for you – each affirmation. Try beginning with a vision, either a memory or a completely imaginative creation that fits the affirmation; then work to find a feeling that expresses, embodies or supports the idea and your vision of the affirmation. Practice being aware of that inner feeling as an INTENTION. Breathe the FEELING of that INTENTION into the EXPRESSION of the AFFIRMATION.

How-to hint: Focus on the feeling you decided upon for this affirmation.. Cup your hands in front of you and speak your affirmation into your cupped hands. Continue to focus on the feeling you decided upon as you then blow your breath into your cupped hands. Throw your hands up and out away from you as if you were releasing a beautiful Dove of Peace into the air, as you say the words:     “Thank You. So It Is!”

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Thoughts on Teachers -- An addendum

Please re-read the previous post on Teachers.
Then consider this:

If your Teacher does not constantly remind you of those Truths…
If your Teacher focuses on what others are doing WRONG in their lives so as to teach by NEGATIVE EXAMPLE…
If your Teacher harps and carps and hacks away at others around her/him, especially other Teachers or Mentors, so that it sometimes appears as if he/she is engaged in a constant contest of Spiritual ‘Emperor of the Mountain’…

It might be Time for you to step back from that ‘teacher’ and find another, or several or many others.

Remember: There is only NOW.

Why fill NOW with thoughts of the past, such as regrets, hurts and grievances?
Why fill NOW with pain and worries, with thoughts about a future which does not yet exist?
There is only NOW.
And in the Quiet of the NOW, your Inner Self is whispering gently to you…..
....Be still....and know that I AM God.

Some Thoughts on Teachers and Teaching

Can you remember your favorite teacher in high school or college? What made that person memorable? What made them your ‘favorite’? I suspect that your favorite, most memorable teacher shared many, if not most, of these traits:

She was interested in her students…as individuals, as persons. He cared about each of us, in class and out.

She loved what she taught. He knew his subject, completely, masterfully. She could teach for hours without opening the assigned textbook(s).

He personalized the subject matter for us. She made it real and immediate to us. He showed us how it all fit, perfectly, naturally, into the fabric of our individual daily lives.

She expected more from us than we knew we were capable of achieving. He drew out from us our best, often without us even realizing it.

She inspired us. He taught us to dream as well as to study.

She didn’t lecture, she spoke to us and with us. He didn’t threaten us, he cajoled us, he urged us on toward excellence. She led us into doing what we never thought we wanted to do, or thought we could do.

They taught us about life and ourselves (as well as about history, math, English, French, philosophy, whatever…).

They well and truly taught us.

These traits and habits made them memorable in part because, of all those who were supposedly there to teach us, SO FEW shared them. Why is that do you suppose?

And now that we are adults, with years, decades of life experience, now that we have worked our way through all manor of classes and subjects and lessons…..do we put up with anything less than that memorable level of dedication, of excellence, of inspiration and positive exhortation?

We don’t have to accept anything less!

And the question is…..if you are accepting less, if there is someone in your life who is a ‘teacher’ or ‘mentor’ for you, and that person exhibits, on balance, more of the negative traits (i.e., the 'dark' or opposite aspects of those traits as delineated above), than the positive ones…

WHY? Why do you settle for that?

WHY NOT....step back from that ‘teacher’ and find another?

As a favorite teacher of mine once reminded me,
“You are now and forever the beloved child of the creator and nothing you or anyone else thinks or does will ever change that.”

You are Star Stuff. You are Golden. You are a Child of the Universe….and you deserve no less than excellence.

A LESSON IN DISCERNMENT

Why do we practice discernment? Let's begin with a definition and synonyms, so that we share some common ground of understanding to work from...

1 : the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure : skill in discerning
2 : an act of discerning

synonyms:
discernment , discrimination , perception , penetration , insight , acumen: mean a power to see what is not evident to the average mind.

Discernment stresses accuracy, as in reading character or motives or appreciating art - the discernment to know true friends -

Discrimination stresses the power to distinguish & select what is true or appropriate or excellent - the discrimination that develops through listening to a lot of great music -

Perception implies quick and often sympathetic discernment, as of shades of feeling- a novelist of keen perception into human motives -

Penetration implies a searching mind that goes beyond what is obvious or superficial - lacks the penetration to see the scorn beneath their friendly smiles -

Insight suggests depth of discernment coupled with understanding sympathy - a documentary providing insight into the plight of the homeless

Acumen implies characteristic penetration combined with keen practical judgment - a director of reliable box-office acumen

Every time we read a Blog post or an email or a letter or article or poem or quote or any other writing by someone who puts him-or-her-self in the position of a spiritual teacher or authority, we have the opportunity and, in fact, the obligation, both to ourselves and to any others whom we know are in the ‘circle of influence’ of this teacher, to exercise our faculties of discernment….and then to act upon the insights we glean from this process.

Why is it important to practice discernment?

Consider this: How much attention do you really pay to what is going on around you? How much do you accept at face value, without question? When you hear something on the news on radio or TV, and a tiny little voice at the edge of your mind chuckles, or squirts a ‘raspberry’, or seems to go…”Huh?”….what happens next in your internal process?

Do you ‘wake up’ and pay close attention? Do you try to discern the truth that underlies what is being presented to you? Or, do you ignore your wise self and just let whatever it was get anchored in your consciousness?

When a friend or acquaintance shares some really juicy, really negative gossip with you…and little or nothing of what you hear matches up in any real or positive way with what you already know (or think you know) about the person or organization or situation being gossiped about…and the way in which this gossip is shared, the phrasing of it, or the language of the speaker, are in any way jarring or off-key or in serious conflict with what you would expect from that person…or from any person with the experience or authority or title or position of that person…do you just accept the gossip as gospel? As true? Without any question?

This is where discernment is important. As part of our emotional, psychological and spiritual growth, it is our challenge to discern the truth of things….and it is our charge, our ethical requirement, our evolutionary SOUL DUTY, if you will, to discern that truth and act upon it whenever and wherever we can.

Here is a basic outline of how to practice and hone your ability to discern:

Practicing with printed material (articles, emails, etcetera) is a good place to start. You can read and re-read as often as you need to in order to get a complete understanding of the material and the author’s intent.

As you read through an entire Blog post or email or article or quote, etcetera…
How does it make you feel?

What do you feel in your stomach (solar plexus)? Around your heart? How is your breathing? What is the overall emotional content of the post?

On balance, does it inspire you or dispirit you? Does it speak to your reason or your emotions? Does it seem intended to direct you in some positive way? Or in a more negative way?

Does it seem as if it is specifically ‘aimed’ at one or more persons or some group or organization? If so, toward what purpose?

Again, is the overall tone more positive and encouraging? Or is it more negative and condemning?

As a lesson to you in how to write such things, is it more positive or more negative?

Take your time; feel and think your way through it.

Have you reached any conclusions? If not, try again.

And when you have done so, the point is this: there are NO right or wrong answers to these questions. There are only YOUR answers.

And now you have to decide what action – if any – you should take based on your answers. Exactly. It is your discernment, and you have the responsibility of ownership.
We'll talk more about THAT concept in future posts. For now, please practice - practice - practice.

Welcome Back!

"Welcome back", I said to myself. "It's been quite a while since we visited here."

"And your point is?" I responded.

"My point, as you well know, is that the last post here was in effing JANUARY for effing sakes!"

"Hmm, well, life happens...."

"Is that a reason or an excuse?"

"A little of both, I think. A lot of both, actually, since 8 months have gone by. Did anybody miss me?"

(The hiss of silence permeates the airwaves)

Okay. Since I hope the postings here are more than just an existential exercise in self-entertainment, today we begin again. If this is the first post you've come across, please proceed immediately to the archives, for a taste of the once and future nature of the posts yet to come, and more frequently, with regularity, even....

We'll be posting (almost) daily thoughts and questions in short form, as well as the occasional (but regular) more meditative contemplations in long form. Really. I promise. Soon. Tomorrow, even.....

Are you an Andy or a Lisa?

A block or so down the street from us there is a house that is much like any other house in this neighborhood. Set close to the street, like its neighbors, with a small front yard, with carefully tended flower beds and small shrubs, the house is small, white, one-story, with a gravel single-lane drive and an off-set garage. The back yard is fenced with shiny, 30-inch-high galvanized link. The residents include a married couple in their 50’s, an aging parent of one of them (who technically lives next door, but spends most of his/her time there, with them) and two dogs, two white dogs, Andy and Lisa.

Andy is male, large, sleek and well cared for, brilliant white in color, an American Eskimo by breed, and a fine exemplar of his lineage.

Lisa is female, petite, sleek and well cared for, brilliant white in color, a Spitz by breed, and a fine physical example she is….

And there the similarity ends.

Andy is eagerly friendly. Of course, he is a proper guard dog, barking when appropriate, especially when he is in the fenced yard and giving notice of passing or approaching strangers. But if he has met you, even once, he knows you…and when you approach him, and speak gently and offer your scent, he immediately begins a low throaty warble and hum that invites you closer. His body language is completely friendly and inviting. If he could get at you, he would jump up on you and demand to be petted and hugged, all the while licking on you, and all the while continuing with his low throaty expressions of total joy and appreciation of you.

Lisa does not seem to have any friends, or to know or trust anyone. Whether she is by herself or with her family, she does not tolerate the presence of any stranger. She will not let you get close to her. She barks continually. Her body language is both fearful and threatening. No matter how you talk to her, no matter how non-threatening your body signals, no matter how much her family talk to her, she will not tolerate your presence. If you visit the family in their home, Lisa will eventually quiet down, but she will not acknowledge you as trusted or welcome.

If you meet the two of them together on the street (on leashes, of course), while Andy is engaged in his greeting and friend-making routine, Lisa is backed away, perhaps spinning or jumping sideways, and barking, always barking…except when she is snarling, or perhaps charging and snapping.

Her family can control her physically, because she is small enough for them to do so…but they can’t control her attitude. She appears to try to bully them, and Andy as well. Andy deals with Lisa by tolerating her, by letting her have her say and go through her routine without interference. He doesn’t let her fear or aggression affect how he chooses to deal with the world.

The point of this story is not to try to analyze Andy and Lisa from a ‘dog whisperer’ point of view. We don’t know the family (pack) dynamics or the full history of any of them. We’re not trying to ‘cure’ Lisa’s ‘bad’ behavior.

The point is to anthropomorphize (slightly) their behavior and to view Andy and Lisa as mirrors for ourselves. They live in a house like all the others around it. Their lives are not uniquely different or separate from their community. Their routine and habitat are normal and common to those around them. They are 'every-dog', 'every-man', 'every-woman'.

So: Are you an ‘Andy’ or a ‘Lisa’?

How do you deal with change? New situations? New people?
Do you meet things ‘head-on’, open-minded and open-handed, with a positive, enthusiastic attitude? Or, do you view every situation and new person with suspicion or doubt?
Are you warm, open and welcoming? Or, are your energy body and your body language closed and cold?
When you meet people you know, acquaintances or casual friends, are you friendly and encouraging? Smiling? Are you ‘in the moment’ with this person? Or are you frowning and scowling, conscious of past hurts or slights, disapproving, closed-off, already thinking about what’s next on your agenda?

There’s an old cliché…To have a friend, be a friend.
It’s a cliché because it’s been around for so long...everybody’s mother preached it to them when they were growing up. It’s what my grandmother used to call common sense….obviously true or real, and yet not very common in use or practice.

Who would you rather have in your life?

Which are you…an Andy or a Lisa?

For myself, whenever I take my dog for a walk down that particular part of our neighborhood, I listen for the sound of barking, and I watch for the first glimpse of that large, lovable, loving Andy. When he is out, I ignore the snaps and snarls from Lisa and go to give him loving rubs and encouragement…and I always offer the same to Lisa, in the same soft encouraging voice, in the hope that someday she’ll forgo the barking and come to the fence to greet us in friendship.

I know I’ll have evolved spiritually when I can automatically do the same with the human “Lisa’s” in my life.

LET’S SAVE OUR LOCAL BOOKSTORES!

I write a monthly column for "New Age Retailer," which is a trade magazine for metaphysical bookstores. I receive lots of letters from bookstore owners who tell me that they’re barely able to cover expenses, and are considering shutting their doors out of financial reasons.

These are bookstore owners who are spiritually knowledgeable about manifestation and abundance. They pray, visualize, and walk-their-talk. Still, many of them are forced to shut their bookstores because too many consumers are buying books on Internet sites or discounted big bookstores, instead of at their local Mom and Pop bookstores.

I’d like to ask your help in saving your local bookstore, please. If every one of us buys one item at a local bookstore this week . . . and continues to do so each month . . . we can save our local bookstores.

Small neighborhood bookstores provide so many benefits. I’ve found some of my most treasured books at small bookstores, as well as unique or handcrafted items not sold anywhere else. I also love the sacred retreat atmosphere of small bookstores, with the promise of new knowledge inside of their assortment of books.

I remember another small business that is now essentially extinct: the small locally owned business-supply stores. You’d walk in to buy your ink cartridges, envelopes, and reams of paper, and the owner would know your name. Now these stores have all been replaced by Staples, Office Max, and such.

Please, let’s not let small local bookstores become extinct. YOU can make a difference! Please buy at least one item from your local bookstore this week, and also surround them with prayers. I’ll be joining you in these actions. Together, we can literally save our local bookstores!

If you can start the day without caffeine…
If you can get along without pep pills…
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains…
If you can get excited and cheerful when seeing your loved ones
after a small absence,
as if it were the very first time you had set eyes upon them in ages…
If your love for humanity does not erode with habit and time but remains steadfast, no matter how little good or how much bad attention you are getting…
If you can accept verbal and physical abuse without automatic resentment
or desire for revenge
or the need to show your inborn physical power and ability to inflict harm…
If you do not need to be proven "right" and have others proven "wrong"…

"Eight Days that May have Rocked the World: Preliminary Results from the Peace Intention Experiment"

Each day for eight days beginning September 14, The Intention Experiment carried out its first Peace Intention Experiment, ending with a candlelight vigil on September 21.

As this was a pilot, testing the entire idea and the technology, I’d deliberately attempted to keep numbers low by carrying out no publicity or advertising. Nevertheless, the idea of a mass intention for peace under scientific conditions caught the public imagination, creating a huge buzz virally on the web and attracting 15,000 sign ups in just a few weeks.

At least 11,468 people took part in our Peace Intention Experiment during the week (many more who couldn’t log onto the sites also joined in, and we will tally them soon). We enjoyed participation in more than 65 countries and every continent but Antarctica, with the top 10 countries ranking as follows: United States, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, South Africa, Germany, Australia, Belgium Spain and Mexico.

Nevertheless, intenders also came from many far-flung quarters, from Trinidad, Mongolia and Nepal to Guadeloupe, Indonesia, Malia, Dominican Republic and Ecuador. People participated from all manner of computers, not only PCs and Macs, but also using their iPhones, iPods and Danger Hiptops.

Sri Lanka chosen

I’d needed an obscure target — one where no one in the west would be sending prayer or intention to — so that any change there would more likely be the results of our intentions. Eventually I chose the Wanni (or north) section of Sri Lanka. This area of the world has suffered a civil war for 25 years, with more suicide bombings than anywhere on earth. The Wanni section is the stronghold of the rebel Tamil Tigers, the well-armed and trained rebel forces, and the center of terrorist activities.

We joined forces with the noted Peace advocate Dr. Kumar Rupesinghe, the Gandhi of Sri Lanka, whose organization, the Foundation for Co-existence [1] in Columbo, Sri Lanka, supplied us with the weekly figures for war related deaths, abductions, injuries and attacks for the past two years for our study.

What happens now

Dr. Rupesinghe and his colleagues gathered weekly violence data from the past two years for both the North and Eastern sections of Sri Lanka, the two parts of the country with the worse and next worse levels of violence. From the start of our intention week, they began monitoring both areas for daily rates of killings, abductions, injuries, attacks and number of people recorded as missing.

From these statistics, Dr. Jessica Utts, professor of Statistics at University of California at Irvine, will model a prediction of the likely average violence levels we should have expected in October, if the fighting carries on as normal. We will then compare this model of what should happen to what did happen over a month. The difference in the two numbers, plus some allowance for control of variables, will tell us if our intention had any influence in lowering all levels of violence.

Although we are still in the midst of gathering and analyzing this data, Dr. Rupesinghe’s team examined the data immediately before, during and after our week of Peace Intention. They’ve come up with some fascinating first findings.

Our intentions may have had the initial effect, it seemed, of vastly increasing violence. In the 16 weeks prior to the intention, weekly killings had averaged 122, with many weeks reaching more than 200 casualties.

The week of the Peace Intention Experiments experienced a sudden surge of attacks and killings, largely brought on by the Sri Lankan government, which sought a last full-on effort to quash the Tamil Tiger rebels in the Northern stronghold, once and for all.

The Sri Lankan navy sank two Tamil Tiger boats, a sea battle broke out off the northeast coast and the government also brought the battle to the Kilinochchi district, the rebel center of the North.

Not surprisingly, with all this enhanced government activity, the killings and injuries suddenly escalated, with 461 murders and 312 people with serious injuries during the eight days of our experiment.

But in the immediate aftermath of the experiment, both deaths and numbers of people injured fell dramatically. The death rate suddenly fell by 74 per cent and injuries by 48 per cent.

Nevertheless, this data only examines the immediate picture around the experiment. For our data to be meaningful in any way, we need to take a longer view, backward and forward.

We also need to track this forward for several weeks more. We have to discover if this downward trend continues, or if this is as good as it is going to get.

We’ll know this soon as Dr. Utts finishes her analysis.

One final and amazing aspect of this is the effect of intentions for Peace on the intenders. Many hundreds of people have written on our forum to say that they found that their lives — and their relations with others — were more peaceful during our weekly vigil. The Peace Intention Experiment is an on-going real-world examination of the process, procedures and effects of the Power of Agreement. We have been hosting a local group effort with some of the same target-goals when we participate in the Peace The 21st program here at The Bead Angel on each solstice and equinox....and we have noticed some of the same effects on participants that Lynne mentions....we find that we go home from the group effort feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, peaceful, often also invigorated...and that these effects seem to manifest in our lives for several days afterwards.

Imagine how much more lasting these effects might be on US, the participants, the Intenders, if you will, if we were to get together once weekly or bi-weekly or monthly in some form of an 'Agreement Circle'? If we were to agree on (even if just with 1 other person) an intention or set of intentions that are focused on our personal lives....our health, our families, our work relationships, our financial situation...

There is a method of getting a small group together In Agreement to focus on a specific intention, each for the other or others, with the focus of intention to last for a week or so. This method is known as Masterminding.

The Power of Agreement

We all know about the Power of One, right? Focus? Faith as a grain of mustard? The Power of Intention?
There are lots of books out there about how to put your personal power of intention to work on yourself and your life. Suppose, however, you've tried it for a while and you just can't seem to get or stay focused....negativity rolls in on the evening tide and drags away all of your focus in the rip currents. What then?

Then we start to explore the Power of Agreement. In its simplest form, two persons get together, and agree on something. They form an idea, share a visualization (more on how to do this later), write a joint affirmation and speak it, think it, see it, pray it, chant it, invoke it....AGREE ON IT.

And then, when the Power of One is multiplied by the Power of Agreement...then you're getting somewhere!

Each additional mind/heart in perfect agreement adds an exponential factor: 1 is 1; 2 is 4; 3 is 3 to the 3rd power; 4 is 4 to the 4th; and so on. It has been shown that just the square root of 1% of the minds in a geographic area acting in concert can generate communal change: for example, meditating (by that tiny %) on peace for 1 hour per day, can cause a demonstrable drop in violent crime rate of that geographic area for as long as the meditation-agreement continues.

Here is an historic example of how the Power of Intention, the Power of One, became a point of focus for an Agreement that changed the world: The example of Rosa Parks:

Rosa Parks made a personal decision to act in a certain manner to change an accepted societal practice which offended and demeaned her. Going home from work one day, tired, exhausted, she refused to give up her bus seat to a white person and move to the back of the bus. When she remained firm in her determination not to move from her seat, she was arrested. (If you don't know this story, Google Rosa Parks and look her up in Wikipedia.)

Our point is this: When she committed herself to act upon her Intention, her action and her personal focus became a catalyst for the Power of Agreement.....first between just several persons who supported and defended her, then dozens, then hundreds who joined in a bus boycott, then thousands, etcetera.

She became the still small flame that burned brilliantly in the center eye of a hurricane of change! Through her Intention and Singular Action, she added the final degree of solar heating to a small patch of water in the South Atlantic of racial and social discontent, a degree of heated action that became a 'tipping point' and allowed the pent up forces of frustration to begin to rise and swirl and coalesce around her, around the center point of her Singular Action, forces that became, through the Power of Agreement and Concerted Action, a true hurricane of change.

Now, odds are that a hurricane will change more things in your life than you wish to change, or could deal with even if you did wish it. However, the power of 2 or 3 in Agreement might be just the ticket for securing that new job you want...
